Assertiveness: A Balancing Act

What is assertiveness and why it is important? Communication behaviour types and boundaries.

Course Overview:

2 session, over two weeks – each lasting up to 3 hours including breaks.

  • The 4 A’s of assertiveness
  • The benefits of being assertive for you
  • Being an assertive thinker

 

Week 2

  • Being honest with yourself
  • The communication loop and barriers to communication
  • Finding the balance: ‘High Five’ breathing
  • Recognising aggression – Reading body language
  • The Anger Iceberg
  • What’s going on in the brain?
  • Safety First
